Inspection and repair on FLENDER 118F - 13,5 gearbox
Here is an overview of the work performed on the gearbox for the drive extruder. The gearbox was already completely overhauled by GBS in 2012. During a recent visual inspection, steel particles were found in the filter. The customer has therefore decided to expand the gearbox during a planned stop and have GBS inspected in the workshop. Furthermore, no other complaints were reported to the gearbox in advance. All seals were preventively renewed, bearings only in case of doubt.
The cause of the metal particles in the oil has been found and remedied.
It is recommended to:
- Take oil samples every six months and have them analyzed
- Carry out a visua

WGW KSHK 1330 S/So
Inspection and repair on HURTH HKS A 18-292 gearbox
The disassembly of the coupling went without problems. The condition of the coupling is 0.34 mm. After cleaning all parts it appeared that the return channel of the labyrinth was closed with silicone sealant, see photo 4. The return hole ends in the lower bolt hole of the labyrinth lid (This hole continues into the gearbox)
The suspicion of GBS is that some silicone sealant has been sprayed into the relevant bolt hole to prevent leakage of the screw thread, but too much is used so that the sealant is pushed backwards and thus has blocked the return hole. In consultation with the customer, and by telephone with their client, it was decided to carefully open the threaded hole,

Inspection and repair on HANSEN EH854A-205 gearbox
This report shows the results of the visual inspection and vibration analysis on the Ghent Tower Automotive wind turbine. The customer has instructed GBS to visually record the condition of the gearbox. In addition, the data from the online SKF vibration monitoring system will be compared with data recorded on-site.

Inspection and repair on WGW AA-SCZ-600/2/S gearbox
We recommended:
- In the short term, carry out an extensive inspection of the gearbox to determine the origin of the grit (by removing the top cover)
- Regardless of the result of the extensive inspection, the gearbox must be cleaned
- To refresh or filter the oil for reuse in order to remove any metal particles
- Perform a visual inspection and oil analysis annually.
We recommended:

Inspection and repair on ASUG GVE 800x3,75-800x0,4 gearbox
This page presents the overhaul of the propulsion gearbox’ PTO shaft, on board a ship. GBS was invited to perform the overhaul, following the initial inspection by GBS. The overhaul of the PTO shaft as described in this report, was carried out successfully. Bearings were replace and axial clearance re-adjusted. A test-run was finally carried out, showing no abnormalities in vibration, sound and temperatures.
The repair of the gearbox should however be considered as a temporary solution. As of a consequence of the diagnosed bearing damage, both bearing pockets showed severe (old) rotation marks.

Recommendations
- Determine lubricating oil pressure at connection 12 on the gearbox
- Determine the exact lubricating oil quantity (l / min) for the relevant plain bearing
- Have the oil sample analyzed (for the determination of any wear particles).
It is also advisable to check the flow at the current lubrication oil supply with the current spare gearbox.
There is no further control on location, which results in the reduction of the flow. If the exact flow to this bearing is known, it must be decided whether this is sufficient for the proper functioning of the installation.
Recommendations
- Determine lubricating oil pressure at connection 12 on the gearbox
